Kaidan is almost 4 wks old now... and pushing 10 lbs. He grunts and makes all sorts of noises now. Birth announcement photos were ordered and should be sent out soon.

Kaidan is officially 2 wks old now... probably need to catch everyone up. We were home for about 1.5 days and Kaidan was readmitted to the hospital for jaundice. We were released 2.5 days later (just in time to attend Britt's wedding). He was circumcised the day before Christmas. Currently, everything is going well and he is 8 lbs and fantastic!!! We are hoping to send pictures out soon to everyone.

12/16/08 @1110 AM Kaidan Michael Alan Kneip was born. 7.7 lbs and 18.5 inches. We were released from the hospital Wed around noon are doing well at home!!!!

Just an update to clarify any recent confusion.

I had fluid and contractions that started yesterday morning, and I was told to go to the hospital for fetal monitoring. Tests were done to confirm whether or not my water had broke. There were two false positives and two negatives. The contractions continued and my cervix was still closed. So they pumped me full of antibiotics in case it did rupture and gave me meds to stop the contractions. I was also given two steroid shots to help develop his lungs faster as a precautionary measure (they plan on him going early- but Monday will be 35 weeks and he is 5 lbs and 10 oz--doc isn't worried). They put me on medication for the next two weeks to stop contractions and to give his lungs more time to develop- if contractions start up again, the doctor will let it the process continue. All is well, baby is very healthy and eager to come out. Dr said that the contractions started due to the large amount of amniotic fluid that I have (which isn't hurting him, just irritating my uterus). Baby Kaidan/Caidan went on his first voting trip today. Early voting is the way to go!

We just completed our second round of ultrasound pics and he is about 2.5 lbs (huge) with Clay's chin. We can probably expect him to make an appearance before Dec 30th

22wk

So here we are at 22 wks... things are going really well. He is busy kicking, moving, and twisting in all sorts of directions. Clay felt him kick Saturday morning and we were also able to see some hiccups last week. Things are going fast-- we are betting that the date will be moved up again. The next doc appt is 9/4/08... keep you posted.
